Learn MoreMedia in the form of videos, images and audio files that are sequentially added to the data capture process in a visit matrix will undergo a series of defined steps
1. Identification of Media Type
2. Multi-step Processing
3. Incorporation into the media analysis and review process
This is the critical element of standardization that requires the annotation of media that is added to an assessment.
Image capture in a clinical trial is defined by the perspective of the subject (for example right lateral, left lateral views), and anatomic location (for example torso, back, face frontal views). The media processing workflow allows a role-based user to capture or upload multiple images and tag them (identify the perspective) during the analysis phase.
Video capture/upload in a clinical trial is used to record a subject performing a protocol-defined evaluation. This evaluation usually has multiple endpoints and is scored by a reviewer based on subject performance. The media processing workflow allows a role-based user to virtually bookmark /clip these endpoints to the source video. A role-based reviewer will then evaluate the media with the annotations and complete a Media Review CRF.
Standardizing Media in a Clinical Trial
Recorded evaluations (videos) in a clinical trial allow a Sponsor to visually demonstrate the progress of a subject after pharmacologic or device intervention. Many of the recorded evaluations will have multiple clinical endpoints. These recorded evaluations are sequentially repeated throughout the trial. Once the evaluation is recorded, 3rd party reviewers and other stakeholders will need to view the videos, look at the endpoints and score the results on a CRF. Anzu bridge's patented video bookmarking and clipping technology allows standardization of clinical endpoints in the source videos. Standardization refers to identification of defined clinical endpoints by placement of virtual pointers on a source video (Figure 1). Once the endpoints are standardized to the source video, the reviewer can easily review the endpoint, score the CRF and compare that endpoint to similar endpoints in previous visits.
